things I'm into lately!

Happy hump day, Friends!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far :) I don't have anything exciting going on in my world today so I thought I would share the things I am really into lately.

Ready? Lets go!

::The Bachelor
I think I have already mentioned this before but I have been watching the reality TV show "The Bachelor" ever since 2007. The obsession kind of died down during Juan Pablo's season but "ees ok" because he sucked as a bachelor anyway. I'm literally cracking up thinking about him. Has this ever happened to you? Where you just think about something and laugh till you cry? Because it's a happening' to me right now! Hahaha. Anyway, like I was saying...I religiously watched The Bachelor up until Juan Pablo's season and after that, I lost all my faith in Chris Harrison (bachelor host) for making such a terrible mistake. Fast forward to present day, I decided to give The Bachelor another chance and I'm kinda sorta addicted again. I still don't understand how some of the girls make a fool of themselves on national tv? Oh well, more entertainment for me!

{will you accept this rose?}

::Video Games
Funny, huh? I don't look like the type of girl who would play video games but I blame my husband for creating this monster. Either that or my "tomboy-ness" has carried into adulthood. All I know is that we might need 2 tv's now- one for each video gamer in the house ;) Are there any other girls that are into video gaming? My favorite games to play online are Assassins Creed Black Flag (yeah, I know that was so 10 years ago!) and Star Wars Battlefront. My husband and I are so obsessed that we actually have to take turns to play. I'm pretty sure our kids will start playing video games at birth, lol!

{lol, I say this about 20 times a day}

I don't know if it's my OCD or what- but I'm kinda sorta obsessed with organizing anything and everything in my household. Every weekend I am organizing/reorganizing something different. I'm pretty sure my husband thinks I'm crazy but I can't help it! If it's not stacked in a perfect straight line, it's not organized.

When I'm not playing video games or organizing, I'm crafting. If you saw my cardstock collection, you'd laugh! I have two decent sized tubs filled with all of my crafting supplies. Just like painting, crafting is extremely soothing for me and it also opens a lot of creative outlets for me!

::Harry Potter
So my goal this year was to start reading. I honestly don't remember completely finishing a book since Twilight. I remember I started reading the Hunger Games and Gone Girl but half way through the books, the movies came out and I never got a chance to finish them because I ended up watching the movie. I know a lot of people sometimes watch the movie and then read the book but I can't do that. I know books have a lot more detail in them but once I know what happens at the end, I lose all my interest in reading. This year, to get back into reading, I figured I'd give Harry Potter a try. I know I'm extremely late to the party but I'm trying, y'all! I'll give y'all an update once I'm done reading them all. Be cautious though because it might take me the rest of 2016 to go through all those books! Haha!

Well, this is it folks! Hope y'all have a great rest of the day :)

Beauty Wish-List!

So how many of us are guilty of watching beauty videos on youtube and then immediately running out to Ulta or Sephora to buy the recommend products by the beauty gurus? I know I am guilty as charged! My makeup addiction has been crazy these past couple years and I knew I had to put a stop to it. The guilt every time I pull my makeup out to get ready is unreal. Now before I purchase anything, the first question I ask myself is- "Do I want it or do I need it?" Believe it or not, this has really helped me calm down my makeup addiction. You will now only see me at Sephora or Ulta if I run out of a makeup product that I absolutely need. Sadly, the only things I run out of are foundation, eyeliner and mascara. I have yet to hit pan on any of my blushes and a gazillion eye shadow palettes that I own. To compensate for misspending on makeup the last couple years, I now find myself buying drug store brand eyeliner, mascara, and even blushes. The only thing I don't sacrifice on is foundation. But to be honest, one bottle of foundation lasts me a while so I only have to splurge on a new bottle every few months.

Since I'm following the "no buy" makeup policy, I thought it'd be fun to share my current beauty wishlist with y'all :)

  • The first thing on my list is the Tartelette in Bloom palette. I don't know if it's the cute packaging that's speaking to me or the gorgeous red toned colors on the bottom right (rebel & leader), all I know is that I've had my eye on this palette long before it launched in stores and unfortunately  I won't be buying it UNTIL I hit pan on one of the gazillion palettes I already own.
  • Numero dos on my wishlist is Mac lipstick in captive. Although it's affordable, I just can't justify buying it. I mean I have a ton of lipsticks and for some reason I gravitate more towards browns or pinky nudes. And if I can't justify buying something, I ain't buying it!
  • Next on my wish list is the Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume.I really really reallyyy want it but if I have an abundance of one thing, it's definitely perfumes. I probably own more perfumes than I do eyeshadow palettes. Call me crazy but it is what it is. I'm a sucker for cute perfume bottles and Marc Jacobs just kills me with all the cute perfume bottles. I own Marc Jacobs "Dot" and oh my gosh, that bottle will forever be a piece of decoration in my house.
  • Next up is the naked skin concealer by Urban Decay. I've heard mixed things about this concealer but I'm not gonna lie, I've been wanting to try it so bad. I just can't justify spending $28 on a concealer. I sometimes think that under eye concealer is a very gimmicky product. Either that or I just don't have an dark circles under my eyes to conceal. I just like the highlighting effect it gives when I do my full face makeup.
  • Lord knows how many times I have walked to the Mac counter in hopes of buying this next product on my list- Mac 150 (large powder brush). I have also stood in the check out line and walked away from purchasing this. It's priced at $42, which to me is insane especially because I own the smaller version of the same exact powder brush. Do I really need two different sizes of the same brush? Please tell me NO!
  • Who remembers the Nars Guy Bourdin blush palette from 2013? Y'all, I've had it for almost 3 years now (insert shocked face emoji) and it still looks brand spanking new. So do I need the new Gwen Stefani palette? NO! Do I want it? YES! Will I get it? I would have to hit pan on at least one of my blushes from the Guy Bourdin palette before I purchase the Gwen Stefani blush palette.
  • The last thing on my list is the Dior Blender Sponge. It's not something I need in my life right away considering I have 3 original beauty blenders tucked away in my makeup stash but it's something I'm definitely interested in. I haven't heard much about these sponges but it almost looks like the Real Techniques beauty sponge. I love love love my beauty blender so eventually when I go through the 3 sponges I already have, I might give the Dior sponge a try!

And that my friends is my current wish-list! Just remember, if you ever want to get rid of your addiction of buying a lot of makeup, just ask yourself this question- "do I REALLY need this?" Trust me, this question really helps you make wise decisions ;)

On another note, Happy February! Can y'all believe January is already over?!
